When we Norwegians have a throat or just want something good, we are happy to eat Doc '. Doc 'is known to be good for the throat while the pastilles taste good. The combination of good taste and soothing effect makes Doc 'a very popular pastille. Every year, we eat more than 200 million Docs here!
Doc 'contains menthol, which is a soothing ingredient with good effects. Menthol is known to relieve both sore throat and cough and, in addition to opening up a tight nose. The series Doc 'Trippel Effect contains extra much menthol and therefore helps especially when you have a cold. Doc 'Halslinser came on the market for the first time in 1970. Today's Doc' is the result of successful mergers between what once used Halslinser in bag, Doc 'Eucalyptus in box and White Menthol in box. The three variants were collected under the trademark Doc 'Neck lenses in the early 1990s.
Today, Doc 'Halslinser is made at one of the most advanced facilities at Nidar's factory in Trondheim. The neck lenses consist of two layers; core and shell. The core is made by combining the various ingredients into a lot that elutes before stretching and forming into drops. Then the drips are placed in a drum, where they are centrifuged while adding a liquid mass that forms the shell on the lozenges.
