KVASS CONCENTRATE
Kvas: a sweet-and-sour sparkling beverage brewed from yeast, sugar and dried rye bread. Suslo Kvasa Russian. Slavic style. Concentrate for Russian wort rye drink, designed to prepare 25 liters of fermented kvass in the home. Ingredients include cumin seeds, for the taste of soft rye bread called Borodino. Clearly there is a malty taste, with a slight bitterness.
DIRECTIONS:
08/10 tablespoons of concentrate, should be diluted in 5L. warm water. Add 1.5 cups of sugar, 3-5 oz. yeast in a large container, let ferment in a warm place for 18-20 hours.
