ASIAN HOME GOURMET CANTONESE CHOW MEIN SPICE PASTE MIX

Chow Mein (Stir-fried noodles) is one of the popular dishes served in Chinese banquets because noodles signify longevity. Garlic, shallots, soy sauce, and vegetables are the main ingredients to this dish. Add any meat or seafood for protein. Vegetarian Society Certified!

INGREDIENTS:

Shallots, Soybean Oil, Soy Sauce (Water, Soybean, Wheat Flour, Sugar, Salt), Tomato Paste, Salt, Garlic, Onion, Dark Soy Sauce (Sugar, Salt, Water, Soybean, Wheat Flour), Pepper.

DIRECTIONS:

Chow Mein Noodles: Serves 4: 1 packet Cantonese Chow Mein Spice Paste. 3 tbsp vegetable oil. 200 g (7 oz) dried egg noodles (to soften noodles, follow pack instructions). 200 g (7 oz) sliced meat or seafood (prawns, squid/calamari or mussels). 100 g (3.5 oz) a combination of shredded cabbage and carrot. Thinly sliced spring onions or red chillies strips as garnish. Step 1: Heat oil in a non-stick wok on medium heat. Step 2: Add meat or seafood and vegetables; stir-fry for 3 minutes. Step 3: Add noodles and Spice Paste; stir-fry for 5 minutes or until cooked. Garnish. Cooking Tips: For a vegetarian dish, you may use 200 g (7 oz) vegetables of your choice to replace meat or seafood. Complete directions on the package. Store in a cool dry place.
