Bamboe Bumbu Rujak (Red and Spicy Mix)
Bumbu rujak is the spices for grilled chicken. The chicken is cooked slowly in spices and coconut milk before grilling, in order for the chicken to absorb the spices. The remaining sauce can be used as baste while grilling, or as sauce when eating with rice. The spices mixture consist of coriander, cumin, turmeric, lime leaves, shallot, garlic and chili.
INGREDIENTS:
Shallots, tumeric root, coriander, chili, salt, vegetable oil. Product of Indonesia. Kosher, Hallel.

Preparations: Chicken or beef may be used.
CHICKEN: 1 chicken, cut into parts, grill. BEEF: Boil 1 pound beef, slice 1/2 cm thick.
Directions: Mix grilled chicken/beef with 1 cup water, 2 cups coconut milk, and Bamboe Instant Spices. Cook over low heat until sauce thickens. Serve hot.
