Perishable, requires an ice pack

This Cheese is a substitute for the Vasterbotten Ost. The Vasterbotten Ost is a Swedish cheese that is produced with sodium nitrite. The USA is no longer allowed to import dairy with sodium Nitrite, but our importing company has found a Swedish farmer that produces this type of cheese without the preservative: the Scandic Priest XO Cheese

To many Swedes, Västerbotten is considered the 'emperor of cheeses,' either because of its heft or its full flavor. Produced in Northern Sweden, Vasterbotten is aged for over 11 months and Scandic Priest cheese is a tad younger and thus is dry, reminiscent of a young Parmigiano Reggiano or an aged Cheddar. Its flavor is rich and full-bodied with a tangy, bittersweet bite. Serve it in the Swedish tradition with some ginger snaps and a cup of hot glogg.

Pasteurized cow's milk, salt, starter culture, rennet.

We give the customer the choice of shipping methods. Our general policy is that we guarantee perishable products when shipped via Express, and the customer takes the risk when sent by Ground. We will not be held responsible for spoilage of perishable products sent by Ground. We prefer to ship perishable products Monday & Tuesday in an effort to avoid weekend losses and reserve the right to delay a perishable shipment to safely schedule it. We may also delay a shipment due to inclement weather.

When shipping perishable foods, our cart will automatically add Ice Pack Shipping depending on the items purchased. Ice Pack Shipping costs $8 (Including Ice Packs). These additional costs will be added to your invoice and show on your credit card. Your order CANNOT be shipped without this payment.
